2006 Hyundai Sonata -
Very happy with my purchase. Bought a silver metallic car which still looks like new and has great performance.
Story

2005 Hyundai Sonata - Smooth, dependable, stylish
This is my first real car, and I could not be happier with it. It rides incredibly smoothly, accelerates nicely and has a lot of horsepower. It's very easy to get up to speed when merging onto the freeway. The body is modern and stylish, and while not necessarily up to par with the design of a luxury model, it's still attractive.
It gets great gas mileage, both in the city and on the freeway. City MPG is usually about 17-18 mpg, while if I am driving exclusively on the freeway for long stretches, I can get up to 23 mpg. Much better than any SUV!
It has a control panel on the steering wheel for the radio, which means that I can adjust the volume and change tracks/stations without taking my hands of the wheel, which is a great feature for me. It also has seat warmers, automatic window... (more)
Story
I think my favorite memories in this car are the road trips that we've taken across the state. The long stretches of open highway through the desert while music is playing and we are having fun conversation. It's been our main mode of transportation for a few years now, and I have many great memories of driving alongside my boyfriend, riding around town and enjoying ourselves on the weekends.
Pros
My favorite things about this car are its smooth ride, handling capabilities, and acceleration/braking capabilities. It really makes me feel that I am in control of the vehicle, and that I don't need to worry about it behaving erratically. I can focus on driving and perhaps having a conversation, without worrying that the car is going to misbehave. I can just relax and enjoy the smooth, quiet ride in the comfortable leather seats.
Cons
The shocks are quite squeaky, they need to be replaced soon. We have also had a long standing issue with the locks - they automatically lock when you start the ignition, which is great, but then they also stay locked once you shut off the car and get out. What this means is that when I get out of the car and need to get the baby out, 9/10 times I forget that the door is locked, and need to fumble around for the keys to hit the unlock button, which often takes a few tries.
Also, for a while now we've had another issue with the locks, which is that not all doors will lock or unlock when you... (more)
