Hyundai Sonata Owner Ratings & Reviews

2011 Hyundai Sonata - As expected, no surprises
I think this is a good starter car or a good car for someone who isn't entirely sure what type of car they want to get. I was between a sedan and an SUV, and I think this was a good in between because of its size, fuel efficiency, handling, and cost. In comparison to other sedans, I think it is one of the better values for the money when purchased used. If I had the option, I think I would have preferred a later model, as Hyundai Sonatas became better from 2011 on.
Story
My wife was working remotely for a few years, and I think fondly on the weekends I drove a few hours to meet her. I enjoyed the time on the road and felt the car served me well during that time.
Pros
The thing I like best about the Hyundai Sonata is the space you get in a five-seat sedan. It is a roomy car in every seat and has ample trunk space. I've had to move a couple of times since owning, and it has served me well to move some of the medium-sized furniture and larger boxes. It also has pretty good handling and acceleration for not being advertised as a "sports" sedan.
Cons
It may just be my specific car, but I've had to have a lot of work done. There have been a handful of recalls that Hyundai has managed well, but nonetheless, I have paid more for upkeep than I expected to when purchasing. Over time, I think the suspension and ride have become significantly less smooth, which is disappointing.
2006 Hyundai Sonata - Big Fan of Sonata
I originally had an SUV, and then traded it in to get something slightly more fuel efficient. I didn't get it new. Actually, it was in pretty beat up shape when I got it. It still ran amazing. I currently have over 150,000 miles on it, and I have had no major issues with it. I had to get the brakes fixed up a couple time and suspension tuned up, but there have been no major flaws.
Story
In a 48 hour span, I drove 36 hours. I drove from Cleveland to Utica, to Manhattan, back to Utica, then back to Cleveland, all without sleeping. My friends slept in the back of the car while I drove.
Pros
Very durable. Like I said in the review, I have driven this car a ton without much damage and breakdown of the car. It is a higher quality car, with heated seats and a great heating and A/C system. The breaks were cheap to fix, and I have not invested much money into other than the initial purchase.
Cons
Obviously since it is an older car, the technology isn't that up to date. The most annoying thing though, is that there is only one car electronic plug, so I have to make decisions on what I want to have plugged in at each moment. Also, the stereo system isn't amazing. Some of the electrical wiring is starting to get old. The trunk button sometimes automatically gets pushed because the wires are frayed, and the volume button is really touchy.
