2012 Hyundai Sonata - Hyundai. Great car.
I've got a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, and it is an awesome car. It has 100K miles on it, and it has been meticulously maintained by the dealership since it was new. It has a four-cylinder engine that gets an average of 25 mpg overall. It has front and side airbags and seats four people comfortably. The air conditioning works great and gets ice-cold. It has a great stereo with Bluetooth connectivity and six speakers. The car drives and handles well. Overall, it is a great vehicle that has been maintained and should provide many more years of reliability. The car drives well in the winter too, since I purchased a brand new set of snow tires. The car is front-wheel drive, and that gives it more traction in the snow as well.
Story
My friends and I were cruising around Newburgh, NY, in this car, and a lady threw a beer bottle at us. The bottle was half full and opened, and it splashed all over my friend in the back seat.
Pros
It's low cost and ease of operation are big plusses. The car is efficient. The air conditioning is freezing. The stereo is fantastic. Replacement parts, if needed, are easily available everywhere.
Cons
I wish it had a bit more power. I like to drive well above posted speed limits, and this isn't a sports car. I haven't been able to get it to accelerate past 105 mph.
2003 Hyundai Sonata - long lasting car with no issues
What a great long lasting car. I had this car for 12 years and it was fantastic. no major problems. Normal maintenance, had some issues with the tires however they were replaced obviously with wear and tear so no fault to Hyundai.
Story
I drove this car across the county from NYC to Kansas City and California- it was awesome!
Pros
This car is very safe and has the best warranty on the market. However, I really didn't need to use the warranty. Very safe and comfortable. Felt comfortable driving, no blind spots noted. good safety features for a 2003, nothing fancy like today but works great just the same. Good gas mileage. No major problems at all. Easy to drive, easy on the road. Plenty of room in the back and truck.
Cons
Around 80,000 had some minor issues with the electrical system, which was covered by warranty- they towed it and fixed the problem as well. Did have some issues with the paint on the spoiler bubbling up and peeling- but this didn't happen for after 10 years of owning and I lived in a very snowy environment. Also did have a recall to replace the interior handles- the paint was peeling off- not a big deal. Fixed for free. No major concerns at all. Lasted me a long time! I only traded it in because I needed a new car with a baby coming.
