2011 Hyundai Sonata - Customer Service Sucks
This vehicle looks good, drives smooth, and gets good gas mileage. But when it breaks down due to recalls on the vehicle, you have to walk on water to get it fixed. My vehicle was part of the Sonata engine recall. I took it in, just as I had with every other recall, and Hyundai told me nothing was wrong with it. Now I sit here with a nice car for a lawn ornament, because the engine was bad and no longer runs. Since I am not able to produce every receipt on this car, which I purchased used, I cannot get the engine replacement. Hyundai service should not have passed my motor.
Story
I used my Sonata to pick up my grandkids. They are both in car seats, and we would sing and sing in the car on the way to my house.
Pros
The vehicle is roomy inside. The trunk is very large. I am a scuba instructor here in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and I was able to pack my scuba gear and camping gear in this vehicle for weekend trips to the quarry to teach. This car gets really good gas mileage and looks sharp.
Cons
It seemed like every other week I had a new recall sent to me on this vehicle. Having to take it into the shop and get it back a couple days later was very inconvenient. When they refused to fix the problem (that has left my vehicle not working), I knew that I would never purchase a Hyundai again. They are not willing to stand behind their product when issues arise due to their negligence. The engine recall was due to my engine being made in Alabama and metal shavings getting into the engine. That is their issue that became my $5,500 problem.
2000 Hyundai Sonata - Great for Families!
The Sonata was a very good car for me and my family. The mpg was amazing! I could fill the gas tank for maybe around $30 and that would last me two weeks. The Sonata was also very easy to drive, and was really comfortable. The few things I didn't like about the Sonata was that if something did break down on it, it would cost quite a bit to take to a garage and get fixed.

My family and I used to drive to parks in other towns in it.
Pros
My favorite thing about the Sonata was the mpg, and mine had a moon/sunroof which I loved!
Cons
Expensive to fix when something broke. The last thing I bought for the Sonata was a brand new battery and I had told the store I wanted the cheapest one and it was still over $150. To me that seemed expensive but I'm not that knowledgeable about cars.
