2017 Hyundai Sonata - Cheap and effective.
The Hyundai Sonata was exceptional in terms of cost effectiveness; I don't think I've had a cheap car around $20,000 that performed this well. The handling was above average, the fuel mileage was acceptable, and it had very little maintenance issues.
Story
One memorable story I had when I used my Sonata was when I went driving from California to Wyoming, traveling through snow, desert, and all sorts of terrain. My car never jammed or had a problem, while my friend, who went along with me on a Jeep, had to replace his tires, even though the Jeep was supposed to be rugged and reliable.
Pros
The best thing about the car was that it was cheap and reliable - you won't get the best handling, speed, customization options, etc., but it will be solid on all fronts and last a long time.
Cons
The main negative aspect about the Sonata is that it's meant to be an everyday man's car, so it's not that high quality - the seats and interior look a bit plastic-like and cheap, and both the acceleration and handling is merely average, not exceptional.
2017 Hyundai Sonata -
Newer model years 2016-2018 obviously have minimal complaints by owners, but you shouldn't be put off by the poor performance of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata when it comes to used models. Most older model years have proved reliable to owners, with model years 2011-2015 being the years with the most complaints.
Story
Last month my fiend celebrated his birthday in my car.
Pros
Better standard powertrain. Revised turbocharged engine is strong. Improved ride and handling. Radical styling update. Great cabin comfort. Still offers outstanding value. Remote smart parking assist. Blind-spot view monitor.
Cons
Not as quick as the competition. Most people should enjoy the Sonata's improved driving experience. All-wheel drive not offered. As usual, the sonata continues to use a front-wheel-drive system. Unknown reliability. Exterior may be too bold for some people.
