I bought my used 2003 Hyundai Sonata about 10 years ago. It has been a very solid car that has given me very few problems. I have had to replace a few parts on the car (breaks, chair interior, suspension) and have had occasional issues with the A/C and radio system, but problems like this are to be expected with a 15 year old car. Aside from this, as long as I have kept up with regular maintenance, the car runs very smoothly at 160,000 miles. My issues with this car are more from how it compares with newer Hyundai models. This car has aged well, but definitely has no bells and whistles. Once, I tried to use an audio port for my iPod that uses the tape cassette deck to play music, and it broke within a week or so. I ultimately had to take it to the shop and get the whole display taken o... (more)
Story
Once in high school after finishing work, it was midnight and my cousin and I drove to the one McDonald's open in the area. My cousin decided to prank the drive through worker by hiding in my very roomy trunk. After I paid for the food and slowly started driving away, he sprung out of the trunk and freaked the woman out. It was hilarious, and we wouldn't have been able to pull it off in a comp... (more)
Pros
Smooth ride, skylight, roomy trunk.
Cons
Doesn't accelerate quickly, not gas efficient.

The vehicle was bought used in 2015. Starting with a 12 year old car doesn't make a car owner fall immediately in love with it. However, even though it has 141,000 miles and is approaching 15 years old, it runs pretty well. Sometimes the start up is rough, but it revs and we get going. I do not like that the car has no "get up" as all, aka there is no way to pass other cars on the road in less than a minute. The body also has an older design, it was built before car companies like Hyundai and Honda started making their commuter cars sleek and cool.
Story
I've moved with it 2 times. It fits a lot of stuff! I broke down a 4 x 4 cube Ikea shelf and fit the entire thing in the car. I was able to move in 6 car trips which was insane.
Pros
I know I will get to where I need to be. So far the car has been very reliable, and everyone who reviews it easily gets 200,000 miles out of the car. I own the car- so I love that, but I see this car as a point A to point B car. If I had the money to buy another car cash right now I would definitely be considering that. I do like that the car is very spacious.
Cons
The body has damage (although that's not the car's faults) and its just old. I don't like the light brown fabric seats or the older style body design. The front lights also aren't very bright (even after being replaced). The car is not stylish at all. Also no sunroof, back up camera, aux port, or heated seats.
