This car purchase was a huge update for me as I traded in a 1997 Toyota Camry.
Story
I parked next to another red Elantra in a grocery store parking lot and the other owner and I spent about 5 minutes extolling the virtues of the car.
Pros
Lots of pros. Bluetooth technology was fabulous as I am a real estate agent and on the road a lot so the hands free technology was perfect. White leather seats gave it a classy look. This is a four door model and there was ample room in the back seat to accommodate clients when we went out to look at homes. Absolute favorite feature was the sunroof.
Cons
The biggest negative about the car was the low front and rear bumpers. I found I had to be very careful about running into concrete parking blocks and once I managed to back over a high concrete curb. That was about $1600 worth of damage that never got fixed.

I bought my Hyundai Elantra used. It is a very reliable car. Mine has 190,000+ miles on it, and it still runs well. The interior is very comfortable for road trips. Freeway driving will get you almost 30 miles per gallon. The exterior is a simple, no-frills design perfect for commuting. The trunk has plenty of space for luggage or grocery bags. Seats fold down if you need to access the trunk from inside the car. The fold down feature also lets you haul longer items live Christmas trees or 2x4s.
Story
After a rainy day hike, we hopped back in the car soaking wet. We cranked up the heat and within minutes, we were toasty warm. The people in the back seat slept the whole way home.
Pros
I like how fuel efficient the car is, especially on long drives. Because of its compact size, the vehicle heats up quickly in the winter and cools off quickly in the summer. The seats are cloth, so you don't have to worry about your skin fusing to the seat in the hot weather.
Cons
The middle seat in the back is not comfortable for an adult--to snug with 5 people. Sometimes the check engine light will turn on if the gas cap isn't screwed on tight enough. Car is low to the ground and not good for bumpy, unpaved roads.
