2013 Hyundai Elantra - Affordable, sharp-looking car
Overall, I am very happy with my car. I leased it in December of last year and haven't had any problems with it. I bought it in a sky-blue color. It looks REALLY nice for a car that was so affordable. I feel like the color really adds to it's shape. I prefer the Elantra's shape over the Sonatas. There is something about it that's more sporty and young. Music is very important to me, and the sound system in the car is quite good. However, the cheaper cloth seats that I have actually mess with the sound levels. Sometimes it's harder to hear the treble.

Nothing too memorable, except maybe really being able to blast some music!
Pros
I love the gas mileage I get. On highway, I usually get about 30+. Regular street driving I will usually hover around 26-28, sometimes lower. There is a cool "Eco" drive button that is supposed to help you get better gas mileage, but I'm not sure it actually does anything. I love the Bluetooth capabilities and interactive dash. Love the heated seats! The car warms up and cools down pretty quick. It's very roomy on the inside and has plenty of trunk space. Cons
The one thing I don't like on the screen dash is that it's really basic. I understand that they needed to make this "cheaper", so I'm not complaining too much about it. They absolutely NEED to change the way one scrolls through their iPod. I love that they have specific iPod connectivity, but I have to use the volume knob to scroll though every one of the thousands of artists and songs I have on there. I like the way Nissan does it; if you scroll through fast enough it will start giving you letters of the alphabet to choose from. I would wish to see a system like that implemented.
2005 Hyundai Elantra - Most Reliable Car I've Ever Owned
We bought this car in 2007 and, other than replacing brakes and one blown fuse, have never had a problem with it. When we bought the car it had about 20,000 miles on it; now it's pushing 180,000 and still runs great. We've driven from our home in New York to Missouri four times, Ohio once and Virginia Beach twice. Even with the mileage as high as it is I don't think I'd hesitate to make another long trip in this car as it still runs as good as the day we bought it and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Elantra the next time we're looking for a sedan.
Pros
1) Incredibly reliable; the only work we've ever done on this car is replacing the brakes and a blown fuse
2) Great gas mileage (pushing about 32 highway, 27 or so city)
3) Handles great in the snow
Cons
1) Underpowered... the 4-cylinder engine doesn't have much pickup, especially from a dead-stop.
2) A bit cramped for three adults; I'm 5'11" and my head almost brushes the ceiling on the car.
3) Trunk space is a bit limited. When we make long trips we can barely fit three suitcases in the trunk; everything else has to get crammed into the cabin.
