This has been a good steady car for me. I got in in 2008 when it was 8 years old and I've driven it for the past 6 years. There have been a few things that have gone wrong, a few parts had to be replaced, but it has not been too bad. It is reliable and pretty good on gas mileage. It has made it through so many brutal winters and started up reliably. It has gotten a few bumps and dings in the body but seemed to keep its shape pretty well. You can really fit quite a lot in the trunk and the back seat folds down so that you can fit long items like a broom in the car. I fit a sousaphone in the backseat one time.
Pros
The car has good gas mileage. It also has a pretty roomy trunk and back seat. The upholstery is easy to clean. The vehicle is a good height off the ground.
Cons
There has been some trouble with the power windows and locks. They are sometimes unreliable. But some wear and tear and imperfect performance could be expected from such as old vehicle. It is getting some rust under the doors. The headlights were all scratched up and dim so we had to clean them with a special cleaner. It doesn't accelerate very fast, but it's an old car.

Overall it has been a great vehicle. The gas mileage is great, it is very reliable, and I have had little to no problems with the performance of the vehicle. The car is also a great price for what you get. This car would be a great buy for a young driver or anyone that commutes back and forth from work or school.
Story
I had researched many cars after I became very unhappy with my previous vehicle, and I had decided that I wanted an Elantra, but first I thought I’d go look around a local dealership that sold a wide array of vehicles not just Hyundai, upon arriving to the dealership I found almost the exact car I had looked at online at another dealership and ended up going home with that Elantra that same day.
Pros
The gas mileage was the biggest plus for me. I can usually average around 28-30mpg. Overall the car handles and drives great. For it being a small car it has the maneuverability and handling that you would want.
Cons
I have not come across any true negatives for this vehicle. There was a recall on the top break light that sits in the back window, but with still having the other break lights be functional this was not an overwhelming problem and Hyundai fixed it free of charge.
