2009 Hyundai Elantra - Dependability that Deserves an Invite
My Hyundai is like a constant companion that has yet to let me down. Yes, it has weathered the years, but it continues to prove its consistency and dependability. It is a smooth operator of the road and has a few technical features to boot. Although, it is not technologically savvy, it is almost enough to get me through. This family-sized car is worth the roll of the dice, and yes, Elantra's are wild.
Story
I don't really have any fun stories, but it does fit nicely in a full garage due to its size.
Pros
I hugely like the built in Bluetooth features. This is an easy way to safely multitask while driving. I like saying "call" and having a car that comes to my "beck and call." I also appreciate the XM button. It's great to have a single button to access XM radio. So, like I mentioned previously, it has almost enough technology to get me through. I think if Hyundai put a little more effort into its extras, it would be a great contender in the family-car category.
Cons
I would like more technology. A digital screen with more components would be on point. I would love to know the temperature, or dare I say a seat warmer or two. It also shakes on the freeway. The tires have been balanced, but not sure it seemed to drive comfortable after this.
2010 Hyundai Elantra - Great Car
The 2010 Hyundai Elantra is a very exceptional vehicle for individuals and families alike. My experience with this car is through my wife, who owned the car prior to our wedding. The car has a very solid build and is rated very highly for its safety features. We took this car on many long trips between different states to visit family, and it has a spacious trunk for all of our luggage and a large enough backseat for our dog to be content during the long trips, as well. We owned this car for roughly 70,000+ miles, and the only reason we don't have it anymore is because it was totaled in an accident late last year. We are on the car market again, and are using the 2010 Elantra as the standard for our next car. It's extremely likely we come home with a newer Elantra, as we were always ve... (more)
Story
We adopted our dog and brought him home in this car. This was also the car we took on to our honeymoon, and had the typical 'Just Married' written across our back window.
Pros
The Elantra was comfortable to drive and take long road trips in, and was very reliable mechanically.
Cons
We had to get a special connector to use an iPod with the built-in stereo system. Most cars have a simple USB or AUX port, the Elantra required a special plug that went into both at the same time.
