2004 Hyundai Elantra - Great car, great reliability
This car has a great shape, good headroom, fits four people well, good trunk space, nice ride, paint in great condition, air bags, and is very safe.
Story
Drove from Florida to NY one time after it was purchased in 2004! Joked about giving it to a young relative when they graduated high school. Now they are beyond four years of college.
Pros
Enduring. Pretty decent on gas. Mint Condition after 13 yrs. Low mileage.
Cons
Hard to see behind me with top of seat.
2009 Hyundai Elantra -
Overall a decent commuter car. Great on gas fairly easy to handle. It performed well for turning, safety, and overall usage. Some things kept going wrong with it like steering, cables, usually a 250-400 fix. I use this car maybe in total 20 miles per day and for nothing else. The headlights were a big issue a year after I bought the car brand new, needed eight months in, and bought replacement bulbs, every year after that. Till this day I replace bulbs and for the life of me still cant understand why. It surprising handled well in snow. I was shocked for a small car. It could handle itself surprisingly well in three inches or less. The steering was good but sensitive.
Story
One day we decided to go somewhere new. We drove 40 minutes, and we ended at a beach. We parked the car on the side of this small beach, which is in my fiancŽ's hometown. I already had the ring in my pocket. We headed over to the beach, jumped a small guardrail and sat by the water. We talked for several minutes. The moon was bright and seemed as if the world stood still. I popped the question... (more)
