2013 Hyundai Elantra - Excellent purchase.
The Hyundai Elantra GLS 2013 is a solid car. I have never had any mechanical issues with the engine, which has over 55K miles on it. All the electronics still work. It has never developed a rattle anywhere on or in the car. It has been the most dependable car I have ever purchased. It's a great car for a car seat and has a great ride for the price.
Story
My two year old son was in the back seat when I was upset with another driver. When I finished expressing my dissatisfaction with their driving skills, he added, "yeah, beep beep!"
Pros
My favorite feature is the eco button for conserving gasoline. It boosts my gas mileage by 2 miles per gallon. I really appreciate the placement of the internal fan switches and nobs, and the displays for the radio and on the dashboard for the speedometer and the other gauges have a blue backlight that is crisp and clear. It handles great is the snow and ice and has a breaking system that tells you when you are sliding.
Cons
The overall soundproofing could be better. The music from inside the car can be heard even when the volume is at a normal volume. The upholstery gets stained very easy; mine is the light brown tweed. Even if your jeans are a little wet from being washed, the blue will transfer to the seat, and it's hard to get out.
2013 Hyundai Elantra - My Elantra
I really like how it handles in adverse weather. The front-wheel drive on this car is fantastic and has never let me down. I have never gotten stuck in the snow or slid off the road. You cannot beat the price of this vehicle for what you get. High quality manufacturing. I have had this car since 2014, and it barely had any rattles. I've never had an issue with it mechanically, no major over hauls. It even has XM radio capability if you want to use the service.
Story
This car was great for my new born son, three years ago. It has lots of room for toting around an infant in a car seat. The car provided a smooth ride for him to fall asleep in most days, even on many of the bumpy local roads and highways.
Pros
Handling is great, really grips the road. Great power for its weight. I have gotten out of many tight spots by punching the gas. Big trunk for road trips. Low maintenance engine.
Cons
It is an entry-level car, so it doesn't have fantastic suspension or GPS. It is smaller than a Corolla, buts also cheaper.
