First, the quality of this car is unbelievable. Considering its age (16-17 years old), you wouldn't know. People are always shocked when I tell them! The upholstery, dashboard, gas economy...all are like that of a new car. Speaking of, the gas efficiency is great. I drive a considerable amount, and I only have to fill up monthly. There's tons of trunk room. I can fit 3 oversized suitcases and still have room for other items. The seats are extremely comfortable, and there's lots of leg room (I am above average height). I regularly make a 1600-mile round trip and I'm always comfortable doing so. I think the most surprising thing about this car is just how much storage there is as a whole. I'm a big DIY fan, and this little car can fit several 2x8s inside. The backseat has lots of room fo... (more)
Story
I was once driving rather quickly in an area with no speed limit (despite its age, the car can go very fast) and another car pulled up beside me. He thought I was a drag racer in my little 2001 Elantra and was very surprised that I was not. I know it's silly but considering the prevalence of street racing in my city, it always makes me smile.
Pros
Extremely reliable (other than the cracked radiator, has never broken down), ages very well, vey comfortable seats with lots of legroom, great gas mileage.
Cons
Handles even the smallest amount of snow very poorly, have had a radiator crack twice.

Overall, my Elantra is a really good car, but that is the most I can say about it. It has been extremely reliable, but it is not exciting or fun to drive. The car just gets me from point A to point B reliably.
Story
I moved across the country two years ago. I was really surprised by all the stuff (my personal possessions) I was able to fit in the car. Not to mention my two cats who yowled for the first three hours. It was not a fun experience, but it was definitely memorable. I do feel closer to my car after having experienced driving cross country alone with just the cats. I feel like we have been throug... (more)
Pros
I have had no maintenance problems with the car. The car also has a great limited powertrain warranty and an overall good warranty. This is the reason I bought the car in the first place. I didn't want to have to worry about also having to service my car. The gas mileage is decent. I don't feel like I have to fill up the car all the time. The seats are comfortable, and the interior lasts.
Cons
The design of the car is ugly, and the lines are too sharp and futuristic in a weird way. The company initially misled consumers about the fuel efficiency of the car and now has to pay us money. I don't like being lied to. There is also an annoying problem with the tire pressure sensors, whenever there is a drop of about 10 degrees in temperature, the low tire pressure light comes on. I am forever filling up the tires. There is very little acceleration in the car. I feel like I am always fighting the car to go a little faster.

They're very straightforward. They never try to "pull one over me" by changing the price at the last minute. What you see is what you get. Shortly after buying, the power steering fluid lines on my car leaked, and even though that isn't technically covered by their 90-day powertrain warranty, they replaced the lines free of charge. They're very willing to make things right to stay in good standing with their customers. The price of the car was considerably higher than its regular worth, but this was also post-Hurricane Sandy, when the cost of used cars in the tri-state area skyrocketed.

The salesman Kyle and his assistant Rich that I dealt with. They were very friendly and helpful. It was a tough (but financially necessary) transition trading in my Honda for a new car, and they were very nice and understanding about it. They worked with me for days and by the time all was said and done, I felt like we were old friends. I'd definitely buy from them again.
