My favorite car I have owned. It is a very reliable and just a good-looking car. We go on lots of road trips, and it can haul a lot of luggage or people (seven seats!). It had great towing capability. The 4wd makes it able to really go anywhere without worry of problems. And I just feel very safe when I am driving it, which is especially important with children. The interior is a tan leather, which never gets too hot in the heat and has held up incredibly well.
Story
We drove this car many miles on some very bumpy forest service roads. Most cars wouldn't be able to handle it, but the Pilot did amazing!
Pros
Heated seats! I had never had a car with heated seats until the Pilot, and I knew I was never going back. It also is a very low maintenance car, considering it has over 130,000 miles. Hondas really do last forever! I also really enjoy how the car drives. It is so smooth. It handles amazing around turns and on dirt roads. The size is also a favorite feature. There are two fold-down seats in the back so you can use them when you need more than five seats, or when you need more space for belongings, you can just fold them back down and have a lot of space. As a family, we prefer this option o... (more)
Cons
The Pilot has pretty poor gas mileage. Highway driving is great, but when you live in a city (like we do), it can get pretty low. We also have the maroon color. If I could go back, I would probably choose a different color. I also wish it had more advanced technologies, like a back-up camera.

The 2005 Honda Pilot is a great car I've put over 200,000 miles on it and it still runs great! So in my opinion reliability is its greatest feat however it also has a great style. I love the way the older model pilots look, not too flashy but definitely not ugly. The car is also very practical. I'm an avid skier and runner and the car functions great for lugging around all of my gear. I took the car to the Hood to Coast relay race in Oregon last summer. Teams in the race are required to have vehicles to transport their runners and most teams have vans but the Pilot was so versatile that it worked just as well! The car is also very comfortable and I love the seat warmers.
Story
I took the car to the Hood to Coast relay race with a bunch of my friends, it was a really exciting adventure!
Pros
The most positive things about the Honda Pilot 2005 would definitely be the reliability and versatility of the car. Like I said I've logged over 200,000 miles mine and it still runs great I'm extremely impressed with the quality even to this day.
Cons
After 200,000 miles I have begun to experience some interior rattling but that was to be expected. The gas mileage is also poor but is reasonable for a car of its size.
