My Honda Pilot is my favorite car I have owned. I purchased the car used and have owned it for about three years. I have had zero problems with the vehicle and have not had to repair anything, only routine maintenance. The vehicle is very spacious, just what I was looking for. All the interior components of the car are well constructed and seem to be of high quality. Everything has held together quite well, even after its ten years. It drives well. Many SUVs I have driven feel more like handling a truck--not the Pilot. It has a nice smooth ride, and it is very responsive.
Story
I took my Pilot to Aspen from Glenwood Springs, CO, where I was living at the time. I took the car up onto a dirt road heading up to some dispersed camp sites. The road was pretty rough, but my Pilot handled it wonderfully. Once I started driving past campsites, I noticed the only other vehicles that were able to get up that road were Jeep Wranglers and big pickup trucks. I was pretty happy an... (more)
Pros
My favorite thing about the vehicle is its reliability. The car is ten years old, but I have no qualms taking it on long trips. In fact, I recently took it on a cross-country trip totaling about 4,000 miles, with absolutely no issues. I also love how spacious the vehicle is. I do a lot of "adventuring" and often find myself needing a quick place to sleep when I have been traveling for too long without finding a hotel or campsite. The trunk of my Pilot is spacious enough for me to comfortably sleep in!
Cons
It uses a lot of gas...20 mpg is about the maximum. Also, the leather seats are starting to discolor slightly.

The thing that originally drew me to the Honda Pilot was the design of the body. It looks like a large SUV without looking like a box. The next thing that drew me to it was how smoothly it drove. My only concern was the gas mileage it may get for being such a large vehicle.
Story
On our way to Houston, Texas last year we got stuck in a flood. We had to stay parked on the Highway for 4 hours. Our Pilot was large enough that we remained comfortable and were even able to play a card game while we waited for the road to be cleared.
Pros
I love the Honda Pilot is the Eco Assist. This feature saves a lot on gas. Another great feature is that it is 4x4. 4 wheel drive is a needed feature for the snowy months in Colorado. My favorite feature, though, is the fact that it is a family car. With our first baby on the way we wanted a great car. The Honda Pilot has built in seatbelts for car seats. Also there are 3 rows of seating. We can fit eight people in this car comfortably.
Cons
I love that this car is a 4x4, but the downside is that it can only be put in 4x4 when it is in 3rd gear or reverse. It is more made for if you get stuck, not for everyday snow driving. Since this vehicle is so large, it has some blind spots which are difficult to get used to. The only other thing I wish I had in this car is Bluetooth for hands free use. This is something that I may add in the future.
