This car has been pretty reliable. I'm approaching 150K miles after 16 years, and the single large maintenance expense has been rebuilding the transmission, which happened at about 125K. The seats are comfortable, the power steering makes handling a breeze, and cruise control makes long trips tolerable. It has a "winter drive" feature which is turned on and off on the console, which performs like 4x4 on icy roads.
Story
My wife and I piled our camping stuff in the back and went camping one weekend. It was great fun.
Pros
The seats are roomy and comfortable. The trunk comes with a retractable cover which hides anything you might put back there from prying eyes. The vehicle clearance is higher than more recent SUVs, making it more appropriate for sporting activities. There is a back window wiper and a full sized spare tire underneath the car directly below the trunk. It has a V6 engine so acceleration and power aren't a problem with this car.
Cons
The transmission had to be rebuilt at about 125,000 miles. I think this is a little early, but since then there have been no major repairs. The higher clearance of the SUV makes the center of gravity for the car a little higher, so a little caution while taking turns fast is smart.
