2015 Honda HR-V - Small but large.
While the HR-V may look small from the outside, the inside of the car is quite large. I stand almost six and a half feet tall and fit into the car with no problem. It is also quite a fuel-efficient car averaging around 34 MPG in mainly city driving.
Story
We took the car, parked near the fairgrounds, folded down the seats, and sat in the back of the car to watch fireworks.
Pros
This car has a lot of interior space, it uses a combination of interior height and fold flat seats to give what seems like more room there the size of the car. Also, the seats can fold up to create two different storage areas. All of this while keeping a very small footprint and fuel efficiency from it's 1.8L engine.
Cons
There are not many cons with this car if you are looking for a commuter or crossover with space. It doesn't have a powerful motor which results in what can feel like sluggish driving, especially when combined with the CVT.
2016 Honda HR-V - Great choice for a car
I lease a 2016 Honda HR-V. It gets great gas mileage. I average about 30 mpg. When I drive the freeway exclusively, I can average 35 mpg.
Story
Cramming a bunch of stuff bought at Costco and fitting both my parents in the car for the drive home. We did it...safely!
Pros
The top positive thing about this vehicle is the gas mileage. I also like the interior and how it "wraps" around you. The controls are easily accessible. The seats are comfortable. The trunk has plenty of space. I love the 40/60 split seats. They are extremely easy to fold down.
Cons
I had trouble syncing my phone up with their Bluetooth. Also, the "check tire pressure" light comes on often, despite being told by Honda's service folks that there were no slow leaks in any of the tires. I have had the car for a little over a year, and the light continues to go on.

They were ok, but they are closed now I believe. I bought a Honda Fit there and it has worked well for 3 years.
