There are a couple of design flaws. The amperage to the A/C blower is too high and burns it out about every three years. And the failure of the starter and transmission are common complaints on Fit web forums, though I have not experienced that myself. It is definitely a commuter car, rather than a travelling car. Comfort is a bit low for a long trip and road noise is high.

My car is lower to the ground ,so the bumper and front do tend to hit things that many other cars would not. The frame is also thinner in some places along the bumper, so it is very easy to break off and scratch. The one major problem I have is that the wheel and the dash and dials are in awkward places that I can never get in a good position to see the speedometer or gas without having to peer over the wheel (I am 6ft but it must be the way I drive). Most other cars I have no problem with the wheel being in the way, but I think it's the compactness and placement of the things in this car that present this problem.
