2013 Honda Fit -
I purchased my 2013 Honda Fit in February of 2014. Overall, I absolutely love it. The gas mileage is decent in town, but on long drives it averages close to 40 MPG which I find to be pretty good for a non-hybrid/EV car. As is Honda's reputation, the car is well-made and feels reliable. The car's first big trip was from Pennsylvania to Illinois, over 800 miles. I encountered some rough roads in Indianapolis since it was within days of a significant winter storm, but the Fit handled slush and ice well. I'm still adjusting to the small size of the car when it comes to highway driving; it's quite small so it feels a bit intimidating when surrounded by tractor trailers. I also get a bit anxious because I've heard the safety reviews of the Fit are not the greatest.
Story
The best road trip I've taken so far with Fiona the Fit was from Illinois to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She got great gas mileage the whole way down and was my backup shelter in case of emergency when I stopped to camp for the night in Jackson, Mississippi.
Pros
Aside from gas mileage of nearly 40 MPG highway, the best part of this car is Honda's optimization of space. It's a small car, but you can pack an immense amount of stuff in it, especially when you put the back seats down. We travelled between PA and IL with a dog and her full size crate, a cat, and two people's worth of belongings and had room to spare. It's also great to have an extra USB input above the glove box to either charge another device or to play music.
Cons
The main inconvenience with this vehicle is that the basic model is really, really basic. It didn't even include floor mats- we purchased Honda factory-approved mats from Amazon later. Other "upgrades" that you can purchase include an arm rest for between the driver and passenger seat. We paid extra for a Bluetooth system, which was installed after market and is not optimally integrated with the setup of the car. Also, the owner's manual says the car is equipped to handle gas with 10% ethanol, but for highway driving, the performance and MPG reduction is noticeable when using gas with high... (more)
2007 Honda Fit - I plan on owning this car until it reaches 1,000,000 miles.
This car truly is one of the best cars I have ever owned. I bought it brand new in 2007. Over the past 14 years I have put 350,000 miles on the car. The motor has not once had any issue. The only garage service it has required is general maintenance like oil changes and tires/rotations. Yes, the car is basic, however it is reliable and easy to put anywhere. It handles well in the snow, and gets excellent gas mileage. There are a few drawbacks, however. For starters, the air conditioner died about 9 years ago. The locks in the doors no longer work, so I can't lock up my car, and the trunk only opens from the inside. One design flaw that I have found and I dread working on is when a headlight needs changed. Story
This car has a manual transmission, and I took my daughter to the marina to teach her to drive a stick. I thought learning the clutch was going to be difficult to teach, but after a slight heart attack from peeling out in reverse, I realized it is mirror usage that will be most difficult and most necessary.
Pros
Gas mileage, and reliability.
Cons
Locks don't unlock with a key, and headlight/tail light replacement is difficult.

2010 Honda Civic - Community Honda Orland Park
Very friendly customer service! I am a first time car buyer and not once did I feel pressured to purchase my car. I had a set price that I wanted to pay and was able to negotiate a cheaper price. I was referred by a friend which Is why I went here and was very happy with everything. I also did my financing here as well and was able to get a good interest rate.
2013 Honda Accord - Valley Honda Aurora
It is close to where I live and they are very helpful. They have a great showroom that allows me to work while I get my vehicle serviced.
