I bought this car as my first brand new car. Going in, all I knew was that I wanted a hatch back, manual transmission, and something with good gas mileage. The fit seemed like a decent choice. Overall, the car isn't bad as a daily driver. It's not luxury by any means, and it's not as sporty as some other models Honda offers. But if you're looking for a good quality car that's built to be something you're going to spend a lot of time in, this car could be for you. It's got tons of storage space, yet can still feel cramped in some spots. It doesn't have a whole lot of "kick" when you're trying to gun it from a stop, but it is great on gas. And during a time when I was driving in rush hour traffic, this car was exactly what I needed.
Story
I live in a very traffic-heavy area. Commuting in to work is horrible! But the car is so small that the ability to weave in and out of traffic is very possible. I have a lot of memories of getting to work earlier than expected because of my ability to maneuver through traffic so well in this car. To sweeten the deal, the car is a compact car, and fits well into any parking space. Where I work,... (more)
Pros
The most attractive aspect of the Fit, by far, is the gas mileage. Straight out of the dealership, I was getting 41 miles to the gallon. That's gone down a little over the years, but still has never gone below 34 mpg. Mine came with both an aux input as well as a USB to connect an iPod, and it allows control via the dash. The car has TONS of storage space- the trunk is massive and it even has 8 cup holders (10 if you can fit your drink in the door slot). Fully synthetic oil makes it so you don't have to change oil often and has very low maintenance costs associated with it. Like all Hondas... (more)
Cons
From a completely aesthetic aspect, this car isn't exactly what would be considered "masculine." It's definitely not a muscle car. Often, people associated it with other small cars, especially the Toyota Prius. The look is very similar. Though there is a ton of storage space in the trunk, the car often feels cramped, especially in the back seat. It does have fully synthetic oil, so even though you don't have to change it as often as your traditional oils, the oil itself is more expensive. Be prepared to pay a little more for your oil changes. The tires are a specific type that often must b... (more)
