2007 Honda Fit - If it's a Fit, I sit, and Drive
I bought my Honda Fit in 2007 with the Vivid Blue Pearl paint. I love the color of the car and frequently get compliments on the color and questions about the name for it. I like the styling, the paddle shifters on the side of the steering wheel. The acceleration is what is expected of a 1.4L DOHC 4-cylinder engine: there is some pep but you're not going to win any drag races. It's a very safe car as well. I was rear-ended on I-95 in the Washington, D.C. area by a large pickup truck and medically I was okay, while the car had seen better days but ended up being repaired.
Story
I was able to fit the majority of my belongings into my Fit for the long trip I made to graduate school this past fall. There were some flat boxes of furniture from IKEA underneath but I was surprised that all of my stuff had found a place in the trip down to school!
Pros
The Fit has decent gas mileage. The sticker gas mileage in 2007 was 34 city and 38 highway miles per gallon. There is a surprising amount of room in it where I was able to carry far more things than you would imagine. The commercial when I purchased it touted the "Magic Seat" which refers to the fold up rear seats that have deeper wells that provide more storage space and work for taller items. Cons
Unfortunately, the car's gas mileage was not as good as promised on the sticker. I have gotten close to 38 mpg, but it was on long road trips where most of the driving was done strictly on highways around 55-65 mph. The only other drawbacks I would consider, are the small size of the fuel tank - which is about 10 gallons, so while the fuel economy is decent, with longer commutes you're going to be filling up the car once a week, and the lack of a center console/armrest between the driver's and passenger's seats.
