Honda Element Owner Ratings & Reviews

2007 Honda Element - A tough car with a small engine but lots of power
This car has a small engine but a lot of power. It is very spacious and can be made more so when the seats are taken out and hooked onto the sides. This car does not have very many electrical problems. Most of the repairs I have had to do are general mechanical problems that wear over time.
Story
I live in upstate New York. I'm always the one friends call to carpool with in the snow. My Element handles snow and ice like a tank with its real-time, all-wheel drive.
Pros
I have had very few electrical problems with this car, which can often be the downfall of a car. Most repairs have been very easy to complete. Most of them have been mechanical and have been easy to diagnose.
Cons
I have had some chronic suspension problems with this car in the back, particularly with the rear sway bar bushings and links. They loosen up pretty quickly and then make a very loud knocking sound in the back. This car does not get great gas mileage.
2004 Honda Element -
The Honda Element is a fantastic car. Incredibly unfortunate that the company no longer makes this vehicle. I have personally owned this car for seven years and, considering how well it is running, have no plans to upgrade.
Story
I have used this car for multiple cross-country trips because it stows gear well and climbs mountains efficiently.
Pros
Very versatile with a number of different seat positions in the rear. From transporting my dog to hauling dirt, the vinyl floor is easy to clean. In addition, I appreciate the all wheel drive, especially during inclement weather. As a very tall individual, the Element is a roomy vehicle whether I am in the front or back seat. The suicide rear doors are helpful when loading and unloading the vehicle.
Cons
Biggest downside to this car is the four-cylinder engine. Considering the size of the vehicle and the amount of drag, the weight limit for hauling becomes quite low. The suicide doors do cause some trouble when parking in a lot, as the front door has to open before the rear door, and if another car is close, the passenger has very little room to exit.
