In a hot market for SUVs, Honda revealed the redesign of its popular compact CR-V crossover, giving it more aggressive looks, better aerodynamics, and more power.
Pros
Normally, the arrival of a Special Edition in one of Honda’s product lineups signals an imminent redesign. Given that the 2016 CR-V’s engineering and design date to the 2012 model year, it is a good bet that a new 2017 CR-V is in the works. You don’t need to wait. Go ahead and get a 2016, because this is a terrific compact crossover SUV. In particular, the new CR-V Special Edition is an absolute bargain, a simple, visually appealing, practical crossover that will likely last forever if you treat it right. Choosing this version of the CR-V represents a smart financial decision, too. Very co... (more)
Cons
While the Special Edition is impressive for its undeniable value, it lacks two things modern consumers want. First, it does not come with Honda’s touchscreen infotainment system, which provides access to HondaLink connected services and a navigation system. Notably, all CR-vs. have Bluetooth with streaming audio capability, access to Pandora Internet radio, a USB connection, and text-messaging support. I think the instrument panel is a bit plain.

This is a pretty straightforward car that can get me from Point A to Point B and gives me some good utility with a fairly generous trunk for the size of the car. I could definitely take this camping or store my work tools in it. The gas pedal and brakes are a little squishy but they overall feel pretty good to use.
Story
I've had this car for less than a year so I don't have any memorable moments yet.
Pros
The utility of the car is just right for me. It has enough trunk space for me to fit tools and other items in without making the car too big and bulky. Drives just like a compact car despite it being bigger.
Cons
What annoys me most is the door lock. The unlock button on the key needs to be pushed twice in order to unlock all the doors and if you don't open a door within a short period of time, the doors lock themselves back up. This is very annoying since I have to carry many tools to my car and usually have my hands full. I'll unlock the car, pick up all of my stuff and walk to the trunk. Usually by the time I get there the car locks itself again so I have to place everything on the ground, fish my keys out of my pocket, unlock the car, pick every thing back, then place it in the trunk. At this p... (more)
