Honda CR-V Owner Ratings & Reviews

2010 Honda CR-V - A car that has grown up into an SUV.
The 2010 Honda CR-V is the perfect "starter" SUV. It's chassis is raised so you are able to get a better view of the road, yet it's center of gravity is low which improves the stability of the vehicle. Even after 5 years, I'm still getting good gas mileage - averaging 26 mpg with a fully loaded vehicle in both short and long hauls. The largest item I have hauled in this vehicle was an 8' tall (2'x3' dimensions) metal computer server cabinet. I was unable to shut the door all the way, but with the help of bungee cords and the various tie-down places in the SUV, I was able to travel about 10 miles with no problem. I especially love the ways the back seats can fold up. Split into 3 pieces you can accommodate a large cargo and a passenger in the back at the same time.
I do miss the foldi... (more)
Story
My neighbor and I have the same model, year and color
Pros
Stylish and sturdy
Still can fit easily in a compact space
Good gas mileage
Privacy panel for cargo space
Cons
No table, but also no crater in the cargo space when the take would be in use
No way to open the cargo door from inside
2002 Honda CR-V - This vehicle is a great crossover, and I love it.
After driving this vehicle for 5 months, I have very few complaints. The ride is smooth, and handling is above par. The engine is only a 4 cylinder, so acceleration is a bit stunted. Torque seems to be adequate but could use more. This crossover is great for city driving. It is small enough to negotiate traffic quickly and has a quality braking system with minimal noise. This vehicle has a bit of a hard time traveling uphill on a steep grade, however will make it. The transmission shifts smoothly, without hesitation, and I have not had any trouble with the transmission leaking. The Real Time 4WD is reliable and more useful than expected; I did not expect to be able to take this vehicle up a dirt hill and make it. Not only did we make it, we did it with decent speed! The heater and A/C ... (more)
Story
We live close to a river, and this vehicle has made it possible for us to reach some harder areas we couldn't take a car for camping!
Pros
When taking this vehicle off-road, I was pleased by the amount of ground clearance. It was almost as high as a pickup truck, and definitely more than a car. The seats fold all the way up against the driver and passenger seat and opens up the trunk area. I have put two lawnmowers in the back for transport, at the same time, and still had a bit of room for other items. There are several storage cubbys accessible to the driver and passenger, with plenty of room for your smaller items that need to be in immediate reach. My favorite feature is a folding table that serves as the 'floor' of the t... (more)
Cons
The fifth door ("trunk") swings out toward the right, and the hydraulics don't seem to hold the door open when it's at an incline. The middle headrest on the backseat blocks view out the back window, I would recommend removing it prior to operating this vehicle.
Do not plan on hauling anything heavy with this vehicle, even camping supplies in the back seem to tax the motor. The MPG will go down significantly, and the car will be sluggish. This car does not come with a hitch system, however it may be able to haul a very lightweight trailer with very lightweight items inside.
