2011 Honda CR-V - Dependable, comfortable and easily drivable
I purchased a Honda CR-V with many future road trips in mind. With relatives across the border in Canada, and with my volunteer work taking me across many states a few times a month, I knew I needed a vehicle that would be reliable. Hondas are well known for their ability to perform with high mileage, and also being able to retain value if ever I wanted to sell (not that I would!). I love my CR-V, from the smooth leather interior and the 6-disk stereo, to just how it feels when it drives down a highway.
Story
I bought my CR-V with the knowledge that I'd be keeping the back seats down for my canine kids to enjoy. One day when we were driving, there was a sudden gust of wind and I realized the back windows had somehow gone down on their own. Well, turns out, my dog was pressing the button! Pros
High resell value, a ton of space in the back, and enough "sporty" features to make road trips a good time.
Cons
I believe the CR-V has a fairly high roll-over risk. Mine also requires premium gas, not anything with ethanol, and the oil changes are a little more expensive, too.
