There aren't a lot of negative things about the CRV--but performance is a little lacking. It can handle all sorts of terrain, but it doesn't do so quietly, as there is a good amount of cabin noise that you'll notice. There's also a bit of a bumpy ride you'll experience in rougher weather. Acceleration is also a bit of an issue, and for a vehicle that's relatively small (for a SUV) it takes a while to get up to 60 mph when you're approaching the thruway. When you're trying to do this, the cabin noise tends to get even more unruly, and the car feels like it's "chugging" quite a bit. Although CRV's are known for their reliability over performance, an owner would feel justified wanting some more power out of a $25,000-$30,000 car. Storage is also a little lacking for an SUV--the back seats aren't as adjustable as something like the competing Equinox by Chevy, and if you have a large enough family you'll find yourself seriously considering the Odyssey from Honda (and the higher overall price). I really like the design, but I'll admit it's a little plain on the exterior--the more recent models circumvent this slightly, but it's still not as attractive as similar models from Mazda, Toyota, and Chevy. The handling could also use some work, as it does tend to drive a little bulky. The gas mileage could also be a little better, especially for these slightly-older models.

There's not much in the con side. I guess the fuel tank can be bigger, and I wish the cup holders weren't designed specifically to hold fast food beverages, it makes putting bigger bottles in there next to impossible. They just slide right out when you make a turn with the car. The only reliable place for a bigger bottle is the one that slides out in front.
