Honda Civic Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
1992 Honda Civic - An amazingly dependable car, especially as a first-time car owner.
This car was my first car purchase, and I was so incredibly pleased with what it was able to accomplish. It is such a straightforward car since it was made before all of the computers and sensors that are necessary nowadays, so the maintenance and repairs were so was so easily achievable and the upkeep was very simple. This was not a demanding car whatsoever. Sure, it was old and aged but this car, hands down, will outlast any vehicle that I will ever own in the future.
Story
We are able to take this car all the way from Vancouver, Washington, up to Timothy Lake, which is near Mount Hood for a camping trip, and it was such a fun ride since the car is so low and so small!
Pros
The upkeep is so simple again. If repairs were necessary, the build is so straightforward. When this vehicle is taken care of, all of the components we're still in working condition even 26 years later. Getting the parts is so easy since it's such a commonly made model. In addition, since the car was so small and simple, it could go forever with a small amount of gas necessary to fill the tank.
Cons
Since the car is obviously an older model, it's not very attractive. It is also a very small sedan, if it can even count as that. Therefore, space was incredibly limited.
2010 Honda Civic - Mostly love it
This was my dream car. Since I started driving it was the only car I wanted. I now have over 90,000 miles on the car and haven't had many problems with the car. The only problem I've ever really had was the rotors and brake pads wore down quickly and I had to have them replace a couple years in a row. Other than that minor fix the car has run perfectly. The car runs smoothly without many rattles. I wish the turning radius was a little better on the car. Overall I still love the car. I get decent gas mileage, somewhere between 27-34 mpg.
Story
We used to live on a huge hill and one day it was snowing so I came home early from work and I made it home just in time. The snow was just getting thick enough that the car just barely made it up the hill. But we made it!
Pros
I think its cute, compact, runs smooth, good gas mileage, I like the tire pressure gage, I love the blue lights on the dashboard inside, the car has a convenient oil life meter that tells you the percentage of oil life that is left.
Cons
I've had some rotor and brake problems, the seats are a little uncomfortable, the turning radius is bad, there are some odd blind spots, five people in the car fit a little snuggly. I wish the car had more options, like an outside temperature gage, heated seats, side window defrosters, and while my car has a remote for automatic locks there is not an automatic trunk opener.
