2008 Honda Civic - I don't know much about cars, but this one fits my needs.
My Honda is a pretty good car. It is very forgiving when I forget to change the oil on time, and the windshield doesn't take a lot of dings when I travel to conventions and things. It doesn't rattle when I drive on the freeway, even when we hit rough patches of road. I don't have a lot of upper body strength, but the power steering is fantastic, so smooth and easy to use. All the buttons are where I can see them, so if I need to turn off my high beams or flip on the windshield wipers or something, it is very easy to do. I tend to get very stressed out when driving unless I have music, but luckily, not only do I have a great radio, but the radio itself can be controlled via the steering wheel.
Story
One time, I had to drive to Walmart with three of my girlfriends because we were going to have a slumber party, but then we realized that we didn't have enough air mattresses, and we hadn't brought the air mattress hose. Blowing up an air mattress with just your breath is really difficult, and we had to do it twice, so we figured getting a hose would just be easier even though it would cost mo... (more)
Pros
Honestly, my favorite thing about the car is the radio. I like not having to fiddle with it while I am driving. I am a very nervous driver, so I do not like having to take my hands off the steering wheel. The radio control buttons on the steering wheel are very useful in that regard. Also, I have a 6-disc CD player.
Cons
It doesn't get as good of a gas mileage as my mom's car. I get about 20 miles to the gallon. She gets about 30. Because I am on a limited income, I wish that I had better gas mileage so I did not have to get gas very often.
1998 Honda Civic - Great economy car
The Honda civic has been a reliable vehicle since I purchased one. The build quality is good for an economy 4 cylinder car. Interior on these cars is not luxury quality but is excellent for a 4 door car. Exterior paint has held up well and has not been repainted since 1998. Panels all fit well on car and fenders and bumper are lined up well. It is a smaller car and being 6 foot 7 inches I have to basically fall into the seat in order to get in. Being lower to the ground, I personally have some trouble getting in and out.
Story
A few friends and myself went up to the mountain and the car just seemed to cruise it very easily. Having the windows down and the cool mountain air is nice but knowing it was going to be able to drive all the way up the road was a reassurance i loved having.
Pros
Gas mileage is great in the Honda civic. I usually average about 30 mpg while driving. I use this car for pizza delivery and it has held up to the constant abuse I have put it through. I love the ability to easily fix parts if something were to go wrong. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I can easily replace most minor things and replacing things at a shop is equally as cheap as doing it yourself.
Cons
This is a smaller vehicle. Being taller can be a problem. Having to fall into the car to get in it can be a pain but I have it down to a science. Does have a small gas tank but gets 30 mpg most of the time so this is not always an issue. Having people try and race you because you are in a civic is also a major con.
