Honda Civic has a great value compared to the price you actually pay. You can definitely get your money's worth. It has all the necessities you are looking for in a car such as daylight lights, alloy wheels, climate control, Bluetooth and sports gear! The side and rear camera is a plus, especially if you have a hard time changing lanes in the freeway. Sound system is pretty good. It comes with AM and FM, Bluetooth, USB and HDMI ports. You can even connect your Pandora account. Both exterior and interior of the car looks elegant. The seats are fabric but easy to clean. This car is an absolute gem for a student or for someone who is under budget. For this budget you are getting a car with loads of options compared to other brands. Before this car I used to drive a Honda Accord model. Com... (more)
Story
One of the best memories I have with this car was to go to a drive-in cinema in Huntington Beach to watch a movie with my boyfriend. It was a cold night, but we turned on the car's heating and had a great time watching the movie.
Pros
I think my favorite feature of this car is the sound system. The sound is very clear, and you have a lot of options on how to connect or listen to your music such as USB, HDMI, Bluetooth, radio, Pandora, and so on. Another positive thing is the side camera which you don’t usually get for cars in this budget. It is a very helpful tool especially when driving in freeway. Moreover, I like the size of the car which is midrange. It is easy to navigate, park, and drive.
Cons
One of the things that really turned me down when I got the car was the absence of a volume knob on the sound system. You have to adjust it using the hard-plastic button on the steering wheel or by tapping/swiping the side of the screen. Another downside is the somewhat small fuel tank. You can feel up to 10–13 gallons, which is good for driving in town but not sufficient when going on road trips. Moreover, the front passenger window doesn’t have the automatic up and down feature like the driver’s one.

I liked my vehicle because it was super cheap. I'd had a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser that had a cracked cylinder head at 26k miles and was no longer under warranty. Needless to say, it was a lemon. I sold it in a pinch and desperately needed a vehicle. Having heard Hondas are reliable in my effort to avoid the previous car disaster situation, and with hardly any money, I purchased it from a Towing Company who seized the vehicle from someone who'd abandoned it.
Story
My car is a total beater so it's great to strap our bicycles onto and head down to the beach to ride along the bike path.
Pros
Likes: it's a manual which is always fun and it gets good gas mileage for an older vehicle. I get about 35-36mpg. It's been fairly reliable. It's a big sized car and has lots of capacity. The trunk is large. I like the glow of the dash - it's orange and purple.
Cons
Dislikes: It drinks oil like a siv, but at 13 years old that's not shocking. I've had repairs on the vehicle and it wasn't as durable/reliable as I'd initially expected. Despite the old saying "Hondas only need their oil changed", that's not been my experience. My catalytic converter went out on it which is an expensive, unavoidable fix in California. Since then it's been OK minus the major oil leak that I refuse to fix. I've replaced the starter (not shocking considering 150k+ miles). Notable dislike- my paint is peeling like mad. I've noticed all Honda Civics from the same year as mine ... (more)

It was very easy to take a car for a test drive without pressure. The lot was diverse. Many cars were within my price range. It was close to home. They had their own financing on-site.
