Honda Civic Owner Ratings & Reviews

2001 Honda Civic - Love
Performance: The Si has a K-series engine which gives it more torque than previous versions. Practicality: The previous owner lowered the car. This makes taking turns at higher speeds easier, but living in an urban environment is difficult when there are potholes and speed bumps. The smaller body is better for city driving and parking. Styling: Hatchback provides more storage space. The sunroof is a pleasantly additive for long car rides. Minimal to no body damage. It's a cute car with a rounded backside and tinted windows. The spoiler is not stock. Reliability: Car has over 100,000 miles on it with minimal issues running. Comfort: Bucket seats with cloth covers. Older car so the seat cushions are worn down. Retains the heat in the summer. Fuel economy: The Si is a five speed. I can ea... (more)
Story
Trying to drive up and down the hills of San Francisco as a beginner learning to driving a stick. It made me learn to utilize the emergency break when stopping and starting at the crest of a hill.
Pros
The EP3 takes off faster than most cars I've driven. It's easy to handle and is responsive. It's a great city car because of its size. I can find parking almost anywhere. The previous owner lowered the car which makes taking turns at higher speeds easier. Downshifting prevents the need to rely on the brakes as much as an automatic. Hondas are reliable cars and can run into high mileages.
Cons
The lowered car makes going over speed bumps and potholes a hassle. The car is older, and the interior needs to be replaced. Driving a stick shift in the hills is precarious and can lead to burning out the clutch.
2005 Honda Civic - Reliable in the long haul.
I have owned my Honda Civic for 9 years now and have had almost no problems with it. Right now it has over 170K miles and is driving just as well as when I first bought it. In general I keep up with oil changes and routine maintenance. In terms of functionality, I have nothing negative to say about it. There is nothing special about its performance and some cosmetic wear and tear is visible. But overall I just need my car to get me from A-to-B and keep me away from the car buying process as long as possible. That's what I get from my Civic.
Story
I moved from Milwaukee to San Francisco in this car. I managed to pack all my possessions in the back seat so it was bursting. Turned in to a great road trip with my brother who helped me with the move.
Pros
This was very reasonably priced for a certified pre-owned car. Honda is a brand I trust. I have relied on this car for a move across the country and several years of a grueling daily work commute and it has only failed to get me from A-to-B one time. Getting routine maintenance at the dealership has been reasonably priced. Minimum hassle in owning this car.
Cons
The technology is out of date. I like to listen to music, but my car has no hookup for an MP3 or digital music. I'm still reliant on burning CDs. There's nothing fun or thrilling about driving it. The interior isn't uncomfortable but not luxurious either.

2006 Honda Civic - Mazda Of Oakland
Very courteous dealers who answered all of my questions and we're able to provide me with good service. Was able to test drive vehicles without any problems and was overall very satisfied with the experiences of this dealership. Would recommend this dealership to others in the future.
2008 Honda Accord - Larry Hopkins Honda Sunnyvale
All the employees are helpful and competent. We had our car serviced there multiple times and I felt confident after one visit that Larry Hopkins was not trying to squeeze every penny from us. Their work is done efficiently and well. Communication is great throughout the entire experience. They also follow up with you to make sure that everything was handled to your satisfaction.
