2009 Honda Civic - Reliability
The Honda Civic is the poster child for how to build a reliable timeless car. My first one went over 250,000 miles on the original clutch and never needed more than standard maintenance before I totaled it. My 'new'' 2009 has the same reliability and feels like a refreshed version of the previous generations.
Story
I searched high and low to find this car in a manual transmission. They are tough to find!
Pros
It doesn't focus on all the bells and whistles some car companies are making standard, and because of that there are less things to break and maintain.
Cons
It is so basic. It can feel bland.
2009 Honda Civic - Great for A to B and some points in between.
I appreciate greatly the fuel economy, though that seems to dip between tune-ups significantly. The ride is a little quirky, with strange stalls and starts, but overall pretty smooth. Lots of road noise to compete with the mediocre sound system, and blind spots previously unimaginable.
Story
The family and I took it up the Olympic peninsula, and while it was a comfy ride, it was definitely a slow one. We had to use ALL of the turn-outs, but it least it gave more time for taking in the views.
Pros
Fuel economy, styling and roominess.
Cons
Rough hybrid system integration, diminishing fuel efficiency and excessive road noise.
