I have had my Honda Civic EX-L now for 4 years and I love it!! The car gets incredible gas mileage and rides so smoothly. When I purchased it had around 50,000 miles on it and currently has a little over 102,000. It still rides just as good as the day I bought it. Apart from replacing the tires and regular service appointments / oil changes, there have been no major repairs needed on the vehicle. My only complaint is the anti-lock braking system. Sometimes, if I brake too fast, it sounds like a gear gets locked and the car won't brake. I have to lightly tap the brakes a couple consecutive times to finally bring the car to stop and prevent skidding into the vehicle in front of me. Just recently the rear end of my car began making a little chugging "clicking" sound whenever I would brin... (more)
Story
My best memory in this vehicle was a road trip to Tennessee I took with my first son prior to his first birthday. It was an 8 hour drive there and an 8 hour drive back. The car never had any issues and I only had to fill up on gas 3 times which was great!! The a/c worked wonderfully considering it was during the summer months and there was plenty of room for just the 2 of us. The navigation sy... (more)
Pros
The car has been wonderful in terms of value, comfort and reliability. The speedometer, USB ports, steering wheel controls, and overall comfort inside the vehicle make for a smooth ride. The car is great for a smaller family or one without small children and is excellent for road trips as the gas mileage is incomparable to other vehicles! As previously stated, the car has not given me any major mechanical issues thus far. The engine rides like a dream whether on the freeway or rural roads. It gives the car such a smooth enjoyable ride. The steering is very easy and smooth in the car as wel... (more)
Cons
One of the worst things about the vehicle is the lack of depth in the backseat. Since purchasing the vehicle a few years back, I have had 2 children, one 2 year old and a newborn. The backseat is in no way deep enough for either of my children's carseats or feet. There is absolutely no compromise for the front or the back! Additionally, the trunk is not big enough either. I constantly find myself out of places for my things. The anti lock braking system is far less than perfect as well. It makes strange noises from time to time and concern me overall with the vehicles durability. The inter... (more)

The Honda Civic EX-L has a turbo giving it some "go" when you need it. This was very important to me. It is also one of the fewer small/economic cars available with quality leather seats and some other extras. Being able to get leather interior was very important to me. As a bonus I got the right turn and back up camera, heated seats, and an infotainment system. Initially I did not like the exterior styling (specifically the rear/tail lights) but it has grown on me. I do prefer the front style over the previous models. Overall it is a good quality car for the price.
Story
It is still a very new vehicle, but we have enjoyed taking short family trips to towns several hours away.
Pros
The best things about the vehicle are the engine and the leather interior. I have kids and to be able to wipe down the seats is incredibly important. I also really wanted a car that I could pull out and easily accelerate in - the turbo does this for me without giving me the V6 gas mileage. I also really love the remote start during the hot summer days!
Cons
The top negative thing about the vehicle is the unpredictable technology. Between the keyless entry and the infotainment we have had them fail on us twice. Nothing a restart and few minutes rest didn't fix, but it does concern me about what we will encounter down the road. And the trunk! The trunk itself is of good size, the opening is ridiculously small, so small that even though something would fit fine in the trunk you cannot get it through the opening to actually put it in the trunk.

The Honda Civic EX-L has been a great car. It is fuel efficient - averaging 30 miles per gallon on the road and 28 miles per gallon in town. It has all of the bells and whistles to make it feel like a luxury car, including leather interior, back up camera, CD player, digital panel, high-quality stereo system and a sun/moon roof. The sun/moon roof has a visor to cut the wind, which I have really enjoyed. Because it has synthetic oil, it doesn't require frequent oil changes. There is an information gauge that lets me know when it is time to change the oil. Although synthetic oil changes cost $60 to $80 at the drive up oil change stations, the local Honda dealer changes it for $30. My Civic is an automatic transmission, and it is smooth and quick. The Eco button helps with fuel ef... (more)
Story
My granddaughter loves riding around in my little car with the sunroof open so she can look out and feel the wind in her hair.
Pros
Safety features, leather interior, nice wheels, sunroof, running lights and back up camera. I enjoy the quick response and high gas mileage.
Cons
It is quite low to the ground, and I sometimes feel vulnerable on the interstate.
