1999 Honda Civic - Reliable, safe, trustworthy, easy
This car is amazing because it is a special "gas saver" model. Honda discontinued the Civic HX model when they came out with their hybrid car in 2001, because it is so comparable in gas mileage. With that said, this is an impressive car for its time. It is at 175,000 miles and will be going strong for many years to come. For its age, it has been a very reliable car. It needs regular maintenance, as parts are going bad with age, but its performance is impressive for being a 16 year old car. It has been well kept over the years and has never been wrecked, so aside for a bit of cosmetic damage and rust it is in perfect condition.
Story
Teaching my friend to drive a stick shift with it, riding around in a parking lot at night. A cop showed up suspicious of our activity and we laughed it off after explaining what we were doing.
Pros
Gas saver, common car (easy to find parts/do maintenance), well-built, reliable, has mechanism that shuts car off if oil is too low, body completely intact, clean history
Cons
Old (things are starting to go bad), small, burns oil easily, radiator leaks, passenger side window is off track, rust, dents

It's a good solid vehicle that will get you from point A to point B. Nothing glamorous about it. It's has great gas mileage and even better reliability.

I shuffled my volleyball team from one game to another. It was a tight fit, but we made it work!
Pros
The best thing about the Civic is that it just plain works. I've had this vehicle for about nine years, and its reliability has been spotless. I've heard all kinds of horror stories about other people's cars breaking down and having thousands of dollars of repair bills. I'm pretty sure I've just gotten the oil changed, changed the brakes and tires, and other basic maintenance on the car but have had no unforeseen problems. I may have had to change a couple tires prematurely, but this had nothing to do with the car (punctures, etc.).
Cons
It's top-end performance isn't great. If you have to lug anything around or crave a fast car, then obviously a four-cylinder Civic is not for you. There's nothing flashy about it. Also the back seat is fairly small so those that often have more than two people in the car should consider this.
