2008 Honda Civic - A Solid Car
I bought this vehicle new and have put approximately 55,000 miles on it so far. Aside from a few dings and scratches, it still looks brand new. The interior has held up nicely.
Story
My wife and I picked up our puppy for the first time in this car. It was a cold November day and he really appreciated the heated seats.
Pros
I have enjoyed the fuel efficiency and the low cost of ownership. There have been no major faults, so the only money I've had to spend on the car has been for routine maintenance.
Cons
I've had continuous problems with the sun visors sagging. They've been replaced three times and a year or so after they are replaced the issue comes back. Also, the cruise control button on the steering wheel failed. The button will not stay engaged, so to fix this issue I've had to shove a piece of paper into the side of the button to keep it pressed down.
2008 Honda Civic - Dependable car with great gas mileage
I love this Honda Civic. It handles very well and has a good amount of "get up and go" when needed. The gas mileage is excellent- averaging around 30 mph. I have owned this car for four years and in this time I have had a two-hour daily commute, 40 hours a week and drove from Alaska to Oklahoma. With routine maintenance, it has performed well and required no serious repairs. The major downsides that I have had with this vehicle are that the AC crapped out (not a serious defect, but one that is a problem) and that the interior is too large for me. I have trouble getting in a comfortable position because the armrests are too far apart and the headrest is too high for me.
Story
I used this car on a recent move from Alaska to Oklahoma, and it handled the roads well. Dirt roads in rural Canada, backroads in Montana, city driving in Canada, and interstate roads in the US. It handled well and had no trouble throughout the trip.
Pros
My favorite features on this vehicle are the excellent gas mileage and the ability to put down the back seat and access the trunk. This allows me to fit larger objects into the vehicle.
Cons
My con on this vehicle is the size of the interior and the massive blind spots on the sides. It is built for a larger person, and I struggle to get comfortable in it as a 5'4" 120lb female. The headrest does not go down far enough for me, the armrests are too far apart, and I have to have the front of my seat level with the gear stick to allow my feet to reach the pedals.
