Honda Civic Owner Ratings & Reviews

1998 Honda Civic -
The car has been good to me over the years, I got this car back in 2004. It had 60,000 miles on it and now it has close to 180K. It has taken its share of beatings over the years. I had a deer jump out and hit the side of my car. I had a ruthless loose grocery cart during a strong storm rip its way across an empty parking lot and smash into the side of my car. My car took it like a boss. I have driven off road many times (sometimes intentional, sometimes not). Aside from basic wear and tear, the exterior cosmetics have held up pretty well. I drove this thing like a go cart and the engine is still pretty solid. Until recently I never had any serious repairs. As of late, I have had to replace the steering column, clutch, fly wheel, and numerous tires, and an O2 sensor.
Story
This pup has been through all sorts of shenanigans. This car has great sentimental value. It is impossible to pick just one.
Pros
I would say the car has consistently performed well over the years. I usually kept track of how many miles I got per tank, and it has not deviated much from set point. Interior wise, I can report that the power windows and locks never stopped working. All the main electrical components maintained their operation. One thing I did like about it in particular was that you could lock all the doors by pulling the driver's side door handle then push the lock down to lock all the doors. This was especially handy considering the car never had a remote keyfob.
Cons
The steering wheel has sort of melted over time. In the summer months, sometimes the steering wheel would be all sticky and when cooled parts would chip off. This car did have some minor muffler and exhaust issues consistently throughout its life span. I wish I could write more, but honestly I am not much of a complainer. I understand things break down over time and I thought this car did its job well.
2006 Honda Civic - 2006 Honda Civic: Great vehicle for city living
The 2006 Honda Civic is a great quality vehicle with a reasonable price tag attached. The vehicle is approaching 200,000 miles and has never had any mechanical failures. The seats are low to the ground, comfortable, and leave plenty of leg room. There are no issues with long road trips. In addition, there is surplus trunk space. I love that I can fit my golf clubs in there. The car has a sporty look and is fun to drive. You'll find yourself cruising through curves much faster than before. I barely have to slow down to navigate all the new roundabouts near me! Even though the car looks like a city car, it can handle rough roads too. No issues climbing steep, gravel roads or driveways in the country. The only issue I've had with the car is that the cruise control button broke, which is a... (more)
Story
As the vehicle is sporty, taking it around sharp corners is no issue. We recently had several roundabouts built around my house, but I barely have to slow down at all!
Pros
Gas - the vehicle is fuel efficient and requires infrequent refills. Trunk space - very large trunk for a car. No problem fitting groceries, golf clubs, or whatever else you need to transport. Quiet - the cabin is quiet and there is essentially zero road noise. Sporty - the car is low to ground and corners very well. Fun to take on winding roads.
Cons
Electronics - the cruise control button broke. A quick Google search will tell you its a common issue. Passengers - the vehicle is only a two door, so fitting passengers can be an issue. The car is also low to the ground, so getting elderly people in and out is difficult.
