2004 Honda Civic - Worth the money.
Only my second car, the 2004 Honda Civic LX I purchased in 2010 turned out to be one of the best purchases of my life. At the time, it was in great condition, with only 40,000 miles on it. I found it on Craigslist, sold by a Russian guy, and I had to pay around $8,000. As for performance, it was everything I could have expected. Quiet and soft-running, the car didn't have any visible or audible issues. (I even had my mechanic father-in-law look at it.) The acceleration was pretty good and it seemed to brake just as well. Lastly, the gas mileage for this car is great; not only is it better for the environment, it's better for my wallet.
Story
During one winter, I took the car out to an abandoned parking lot and just did donuts and drifts for about an hour. Definitely recommend the experience.
Pros
Low mileage. Extremely clean. No scratches/dents. Fair price. Great gas mileage.

2006 Honda Civic - Reliable car and stands up to the reputation.
We purchased a Honda Civic primarily based on the reputation that Hondas will run forever. In the time we've owned the car, we've seen that to be true. There have been very minimal issues with how the car handles and runs, and for that, we are very grateful in the quality.
Story
This car has been with us through a lot and has been our primary source of transportation for quite some time. We drove our newborn son from the hospital back home in it and still have the pictures to show it!
Pros
The car has never given us any issues as far as running or breaking down. It's a straight forward, no-frills car that's reliable and a company that I can trust.
Cons
Parts can get expensive, especially when looking to replace trim or emblems. The Honda name is known for a reason, and because of that, their replacements aren't cheap. I can find comparable off-brand replacements for far cheaper that I can at the dealership.
