2011 Honda Civic - A Wonderful, Practical Car
I really like my Honda Civic! It was affordable, is reliable, fuel-efficient, and fits my needs. I drive a lot, and have already put 65,000 miles on the car, but it still drives like a dream. There are no rattles, odd noises, or dip in fuel economy. One of my favorite things about it (which may seem silly) is the dash. The miles per hour indicator is HUGE and lights up. I don't have to struggle to see or control my speed. The backseat is roomy for passengers, and I love how it is compact.
Story
My Honda is surprisingly roomy! I decided to go on a spur-of-the moment road trip with friends, and was able to all 5 people, all luggage, and a cooler full of snacks in the car, with plenty of room!
Pros
I love the fuel economy on the Honda Civic. I can fill up for between $30-$40, and that will last a week and a half. I also love how compact my car is. I live in an urban area, and parking can be tight and nerve-wracking. The small body of the car is perfect for squeezing into tight spaces (especially when forced to squeeze between two giant SUVs). It makes me feel more confident driving. I also like the big trunk. I have a lot of supplies for work, and everything fits wonderfully in my trunk.
Cons
The biggest con with this car is the blind spots. There is an odd and large blind spot on the door jam, so I have to crane my neck around when turning in order to see pedestrians.
2011 Honda Civic - Design makes me uncomfortable
I'm an average height American woman yet I feel I'm peering over a fence every time I get in this car. I feel as I have a persistent lack of visibility, the dashboard sits very high. It does get good gas mileage, which as someone who came of age in the seventies, finds as a priority feature for any car they own or drive. However, it's impossible to recommend since there's the constant feeling of insufficient visibility when you get behind the wheel.
Story
I lost it in a parking lot! Too many silver Hondas out there! Talk about the "invisible car"!!!
Pros
It does get good mileage. A tank of gas lasts two weeks. Which is a lot to say, things are spread out around this part of upstate NY. It's not unusual to drive an hour for routine errands, such as shopping at a specific store. It has been very easy to maintain, just requires an oil change twice a year, otherwise it's given me no trouble whatsoever.
Cons
I have this persistent feeling that I'm peering over a fence when I get behind the wheel. The dashboard sits rather high up I this car, or the seats are too low, but I'm an average height woman (5'6") and it feels "big" to me. Although this hasn't caused any problems on the road, this pervasive discomfort doesn't cause me to recommend the car or want to purchase another (save for an interior redesign).
