I have put over 100,000 miles on my 2002 GMC Yukon XL with minimal repairs.
Story
I hit a pheasant at 70 miles per hour, destroying my windshield the sound was similar to that of a shotgun and made me say bad words.
Pros
The vehicle gets good mileage for a large vehicle with a V8. When my spouse and I decided to look for a vehicle that could seat at least 7 people we determined that mini vans only get about 3 more miles per gallon than a GMC Yukon XL with a 5.3 liter v8 and provides for the ability to tow a boat or medium sized trailer. GMC Yukon XL is comfortable for me and my family and also has seating for all of us and 2 guests. The GMC Yukon XL has push-button four wheel drive, that has never needed to be repaired. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.
Cons
From 2001 to 2006 GM 5.3 liter vortec v8 engines were manufactured with cylinder heads known to crack around the head bolt hole and cause unexplained losses of coolant and the potential to destroy the engine, I have not had this problem.
