2011 GMC Terrain - I have put over 100,000 miles on it, and it's still going strong.
It is very well put together. The quality of it is basically second to none. It has a good size for the money I paid, but yet isn't too big. The performance part of it is very good. Acceleration and braking are very good, and nothing seems to drag.
Story
My fiancŽ and I were driving in a bigger town and decided we wanted to go get a snack. We ended up getting lost and had to consult the GPS to figure out where to go.
Pros
I love how well put together it is. It has provided me with over 100,000 miles, and it is still going strong. The storage area is very spacious for a crossover SUV. The sound system is very good for being a factory placed item. The base model of it is a very good deal for the money.
Cons
There isn't a whole lot of things that I would put in this area, because I have really liked it. I would like to put in here that the brakes have had to be replaced a couple of different times, which makes me wonder if the parts that are used on it are subpar. There also aren't any vents for the second row of seating, which was kind of a downer as well.
2013 GMC Terrain - Nice car
This is a solid, serviceable vehicle. It doesn't seem very quick, but I don't like to race when I drive. It's pretty big, but has an Eco-Boost 4 cylinder engine. It's showing ~ 25 mpg now from some medium trips around town this weekend. If I go on a longer trip I'll get 30+ mpg. I think the highest I've gotten was 33, and I forgot to latch the hood for part of that trip.
Story
My Terrain is black, and last week as I approached it I saw a crow on the grass. When he flew to my car & landed on it I shouted & waved my arms, as you can imagine!
Pros
You're sitting up fairly high, which gives you a good view of the road. The hands free Bluetooth system is great for phone calls. You can turn off the Eco-Boost feature for quicker acceleration. Looks very slick from the side. Automatic light setting is convenient; it turns the headlights on when needed and keeps Daytime Running Lights on if headlights are off.
Cons
Noticed rust on lift gate struts after 3 years. Dealer should replace under warranty. Service bulletin online alerted me to excess oil consumption issue; dealer replaced pistons and rings under warranty which required three trips to dealer. I don't find it easy to park, but I'm short and used to a much smaller car.
