2010 GMC Terrain - Smooth ride.
This is a nice mid sized SUV for myself and two kids. It has a good amount of pick up and go. I have had many compliments on how smooth of a ride it is and I feel it's a very effortless vehicle to drive. It typically gets 23 mpg mixed highway/city. We get a lot of use out of the back hatch area, the vehicle is easy to get in and out of, and plenty of legroom for everyone.
Story
When I test drove the car with my kids and my father the kids were very impressed with the backup camera that I didn't even notice until they pointed it out. Still to this day it makes me laugh how many people who ride with me who don't notice it and worry about why I'm not using the traditional backing up precautions.
Pros
I like it is XM radio capable and has a good factory sound system. It has a great back up camera that pops up in the rear view mirror. Multiple charging outlets for different devices.
Cons
I wish it had leather seats rather than the fabric that has the large rigid mess. The material is hard to clean with kids. It doesn't get as good of gas mileage as I was hoping for. Takes awhile for the air to cool the car. I really dislike how the put the door lock button in the middle console as it was hard to find and close to the hazards button which I have accidentally hit a few times unknowingly.
2015 GMC Terrain - Very satisfied for the price.
We bought the lowest model, because we did not have a huge down payment, so we needed a less-expensive SUV. However, for considering its low cost, we got a lot for our money. The design is very nice, and it still came with a big touchscreen monitor and back-up camera. We have not had one problem with it as far as anything breaking down.
Story
A great memory I have is always going to the famers market in my car and loading up all three dogs in the back so they could go, too. Then, filing up the car with bags of food and goodies after the market.
Pros
The back-up camera and big touchscreen monitor are my favorite features about this vehicle. Not many other cars in this price range come standard with those. It has the right amount of room. It is big enough for our three dogs and all our luggage when we go on trips. It is a V4, so it is great on gas.
Cons
You cannot play your Pandora from your phone to your car. I'm not sure why, but it won't let you. You have to use an aux cord instead. This car doesn't have much get up and go. The V4 doesn't make this car great for acceleration.
