2012 GMC Terrain - Old is gold
My GMC Terrain stands out among other cars. It has driver-assistance features, luxury appointments and distinctive styling.
Story
I took my car to California in March. It was unforgettable.
Pros
It has a roomy cabin, neatly-appointed dashboard, and lots of storage compartments.
Cons
Outside of normal servicing, the only problem we've had is the key fob broke and had to be replaced.
2011 GMC Terrain - Luxury with GMC comes with a high price
Upon first glance of the GMC Terrain, I was amazed. It offered all of the luxuries I was in search of for a seemingly reasonable price. Only a short time later would I learn that the price wouldn't end up being reasonable at all. This vehicle has been in the shop more than a handful of times due to mechanical issues. Spending just a few minutes online, reading consumer forums, it is no secret that the vast majority of consumers share the same frustrations over issues with the Terrain.
Story
I am a driver for a ride-share service. I was driving an older lady passenger one afternoon when my car began to make rattling noises from the engine. The lady took out her phone, called someone, and was using every explicit words in the book saying that she was tired of being sold faulty hearing aids. Pros
For an SUV made by GM, the luxuries and add-ons are quite sufficient for this vehicle. XM/Sirius and OnStar are both standard features. My particular trim (SLE-2) comes with premium-cloth, heated seats. The interior looks very contemporary. My absolute favorite is the ample leg room in the rear seating. Additionally, the rear seats fold down and allow for amazing cargo space.
Cons
There are numerous issues (backed by lots of consumer complaints), such as excessive oil consumption and delay in acceleration. My Terrain has been serviced for both. Fuel economy is far from advertised ratings. The battery is not one that can be universally replaced. Due to the housing for the battery, it requires a specially manufactured one. Lastly, the Bluetooth technology is outdated and doesn't allow for media streaming from your phone.
