2013 GMC Acadia - Sturdy, but not too techy
The Acadia is a very sturdy vehicle. It gets okay gas mileage compared to other SUVs in its class. I have not used it to tow anything but I know that it is capable of pulling a sizeable cargo. The V6 engine provides plenty of power for everyday use. The seats and interior are comfortable, but could be improved. I like the overall design of the interior, it is very sleek and modern. One thing that definitely could be improved is the technology going in to the car. You can definitely tell that GMC has not done much to improve the technology in the Acadia line since it was first introduced several years ago. Limited Bluetooth capabilities as well as an obviously old radio/stereo system definitely could use a more modern approach. Overall, the Acadia is a pleasant drive, the suspension rid... (more)
Pros
The GMC Acadia has plenty of cargo room, which is definitely a plus when moving large loads. It seats 7 very comfortably which is another plus when going on road trips or vacations. I like that it has a V6 instead of a V8 because it gets better gas mileage for being such a large car. The handling and braking is impressive. I once avoided getting in an accident by braking hard and the ABS did a wonderful job of stopping the vehicle and maintaining control during the hard braking. The exterior of the car is definitely stylish. The paint job is top-notch, as I would expect from any GMC-brande... (more)
Cons
As mentioned above, the technology in this car is admittedly sub-par compared to much of the competition. I think a USB port should be standard, especially for a line of vehicles that brands itself as "Professional Grade". The odometer and other instruments on the dashboard are definitely not up to the competition's standards. The wheel-mounted controls for the stereo is nice, but I would have liked to see GMC put more capability in that area. The stereo itself also seems sort of old-fashioned and could definitely use a more modern treatment. A touch screen would be nice, or maybe just a s... (more)
2013 GMC Acadia - A Pleasant Surprise
I never expected an SUV with such a smooth ride. I can drive in pleasurable comfort no matter what the distance of my trip. Another feature that I love is the back support of the adjustable leather seats which can be preset for two drivers, so that you can switch back and forth with the touch of a button. I also love the individual seat heater controls for the front driver and passenger seats. The vehicle has a very spacious interior with captain's chairs in the middle and a bench seat in the back. Also, all of the back seats fold down for ample cargo capacity. The built-in navigation feature is very convenient and easy to use, and the back-up camera is an appreciated additional safety feature that warns you if you are about to back into anything or if automobile or pedestrian tr...
