At first glance, not many would be interested in a station wagon these days. Once one gets past the outward appearance of the vehicle, the performance of the engine and the comfort of the ride will win them over. My wagon has a 3.0 liter dual overhead cam engine and has an impressive amount of torque and horsepower The interior is really very comfortable, even for larger drivers and passengers (I am 6 feet 5 inches and weigh just over 300 pounds.) As far as quality goes, I didn't expect much because I am not a Ford person...I normally tend to lean toward the GM vehicles, but in this particular case, I was able to purchase this vehicle with less than 90,000 miles and have had very few problems. Upon purchase, I changed the oil, changed the plugs and wires, and changed the air filt... (more)
Story
The most fun I had in the wagon is giving a co-worker a ride to McDonalds during lunch. The reason I called this car a sleeper is no one expects much performance out of it. My co-worker got in the car and we started out normally, when we got to the road, he said "does this thing have enough power to get out into traffic?" I floored it and the front tires started squealing and it through him... (more)
Pros
The top positive points about the car are its comfort while driving and the performance of the engine. The car is surprisingly comfortable for a mid-range sedan or wagon. There is plenty of leg room both for the people in the front as well as the people in the back of the car. As for the performance of the car, I was pleased to find the car had 4 wheel anti lock brakes in order to help slow the very energetic 3.0 liter dual overhead cam v6.
Cons
There were not many negative points I noticed about this vehicle with the possible exception of the body style (station wagon is not exactly stylish) and the gas mileage. For cars, the car gets low range gas mileage, about 24 mpg combined. My last vehicle got around 30 mpg.

Overall, this car has been a huge disappointment. I purchased this car from my grandmother after my car at the time was totaled in a wreck. I was really happy, because it had low mileage (my grandmother was in her 80's so she didn't drive that often), and I purchased it for a very low price. I had driven a Ford Taurus in the past, so I was familiar with the car and figured it would be a good option in the interim. Boy was I wrong. I had the car less than a month before I started having major issues with the car. The first things I had to replace were typical. The tires were beginning to dry rot, and the brake pads were starting to make noise. No problem, I thought. Every can has to have maintenance done every once in awhile. I spent over 500 dollars replacing all 4 tires as w... (more)
Pros
There were a few positive things about this vehicle, mainly related to the cost effectiveness of it (aside from the repairs). I am able to purchase tires that are reasonable priced (less than $80 a tire), and the oil changes are relatively cheap as well. The car does get great gas mileage, which in this day and age, is a huge plus. I spend less than half on gas, that a lot of others spend. The repairs are also considerably cheaper than other models, and the parts are pretty easy to find (meaning the repair time isn't too bad). So from a strictly economical standpoint, the car is great... (more)
Cons
There are not enough negative things I can say about this vehicle, that will adequately paint a picture of the heartache it has caused. Getting in this car every day, has become a huge source of anxiety because I never know if something else is going to break. While I don understand that things in cars to break down from time to time, and things have to be replaced, I have never known a car that had so many failures. We have had to replace the transmission, fix 3 or 4 leaks (the windows still leak when it rains). We have had the air conditioner fixed twice. There is a leak in the wind... (more)
