2000 Ford Taurus - Great car!
I have owned this vehicle for almost 15 years. It now has 154,000 miles on it. It still runs like a top. The engine runs smoothly and confidently with a lot of power. I only perform routine maintenance on it and it costs me very little to drive on an annual basis. It get great gas mileage for a car of its size. It is a great car for long road trips - lots of room inside. All the accessories are great as well - it has a terrific sound system, climate control, the works. I sometimes think of buying a new car, but how can I justify it when my Taurus still runs alike a dream. If someone was looking for a great used car, they could not do better than a 2001 Ford Taurus. Highly recommended!
Pros
I think it runs so well. The 6 cylinder engine has a lot of get up and go that gives me confidence, whether driving in the city or on the highway. All that power and great gas mileage too!
Cons
I have had some problems with rust around the left read wheel well. Someone would be advised to check this are for corrosion and/or repairs.
2005 Ford Taurus - Pretty Good!
The back seat is very comfortable, it has plenty of miles on it (140k) and still runs nicely, it says check engine but I just might have to get its oil changed.
There's really been no problems with it, and it's very easy to clean!
Story
On a winter night I slept in it just for fun.
Pros
Back seat is very comfy to sleep on, I did it twice.
Runs well.
Cons
No aux cord, only cds.
Brakes are not the ones like in the newer cars. You tap lightly and it brakes hard, which would be nice but it is a 2005.
Wish it was higher in MPG, like a smart car but that's just me.
