My old car started to fall apart and I desperately needed a new car so I bought this car from an elderly couple who kept this car in great condition. When I made the decision to buy this car I did lots of research on this car type and I found that it is one of the better choices. I was looking to get an SUV and another sedan type vehicle. I am proud to say I made a good choice. It is a automatic transmission and prior to that I was driving a car that was a manual transmission. I like that when I take a 4 hour road trip with my family I only have to refill the gas tank only once. That was a major plus for me. This car has a remote key unlock and lock system and that was something I was needing seeing that my old car didn't have that feature. When I crank this car up the motor is very qu... (more)
Story
My child and I went to Florida and we had to drive over a bridge that was long and it was surrounded by nothing but water. That day there was bumper to bumper traffic on that bridge and while we were stuck we took pictures inside the car posing against our windows to make it seem like we have an ocean view.
Pros
The pros are it is a automatic transmission, it is good on gas and it is roomy. I liked the fact that the car seats where still in like new condition and the seat-belts were not worn. The glove compartment has enough room in it that I can keep all my important papers in it and a spare cellphone charger. The car trunk was and still is very spacey. Seeing that I make groceries at a warehouse store it was important to me to have a car with a large trunk space. It is very good on gas and with proper driving the gas last a while. I love the car stereo, it plays cds and the fm radio. I love that... (more)
Cons
I don't have too many cons but I will say when I comes to replacing tires the tires can be expensive. The placement of the break-fluid compartment is not in a readily accessible spot. The transmission fluid spot is also in a not so accessible spot. I like to check my fluids in my car once a month and the placement makes it very uncomfortable to do. The pipes tend to wear out rather quickly under the car hood.

The car overall is pure quality. You can tell just by looking at it that Ford took their time to design and build this car. The seats are comfortable, everything is within reach and also accessible via My Ford Sync, I can play my music from my iPhone via Bluetooth or via the USB connection in the center console, make calls easily with the Bluetooth, navigate to the closest restaurants just by telling my car "I'm hungry" and making a choice from the list of restaurants that come up in my navigation... This is a techie's dream!! The Multi Contour Seats assist with driver fatigue, and boy, do they feel great after a long day at work! The heated seats and steering wheel are great for the winter, the cooled seats are great for the summer… And the remote start chooses which to activate based... (more)

I have been asked so many times what kind of car I am driving. I get so many compliments on it, it's crazy! The car is super sharp!
Pros
Everything about this car is amazing!! I love it!
Cons
The only negative I can think of is that I don't exactly like the rims that come with the Performance Package. They look like flowers. I wish there were more options.

2004 Ford Taurus - Average car.

I liked the way it felt like I had something more solid under me when I test drove it. A couple of other cars in the same price range felt like the interiors was almost falling apart and they didn't feel as solidly built. This car had good engine power and I'd heard they were decent cars. So, we bought it, but the check engine light came on within a couple of days. When we took it back to the car dealer, they didn't locate the problem because they were actually a Volkswagen dealership, so we had to look elsewhere. The problem was not huge and got fixed, but then it started leaking oil. We got that fixed and then the air conditioning quit. This is a problem we've never managed to fix. We've taken it to three different places and spent too much money, but the air conditioning still doesn... (more)
Story
We strapped a car top carrier on it and went up to the mountains to rent a cabin for a couple of days. The tie-downs on the carrier were missing, so we ran straps right through the car to hold it on. They were a little in the way, but we had fun.
Pros
It still runs good and I feel it is fairly reliable. It still feels like you have something solid under you when you get in it. It's got enough room for 5 people, when we need it.
Cons
But the interior has held up, all except for a side door panel cover which has the part you snap in broken off. It makes the interior much more unsightly with that piece missing. It has had too many repairs, not always big ones, but numerous. Air conditioning problem can't seem to get fixed.
