Ford Ranger Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
1985 Ford Ranger - 85' Ford Ranger -- built like a tank.
This was the first car that I ever owned, and after almost 20 other cars, it was still one of the best and most dependable that I have ever owned. For the age, as well as the amount of mileage that was on the car, it took very little maintenance and was easy to keep running. Being that it was an old car, I could work on it myself and did not have to worry about any computer systems. Beyond this, it was very comfortable, handled quite well for its age, and had the perfect amount of interior and exterior space. The only complaint that I had with it was the look of the interior, but one cannot expect much more considering the age of the car. That being said, even after almost 30 years and 200k miles, the interior was still all in one piece.
Story
I took it off-roading, saw other people get stuck, and was even able to pull others out of the mud with my small truck.
Pros
The biggest pro to this vehicle is the fact that it seemingly ran forever without ever having to replace any major engine components. Also, it was one of the most fun cars I have driven. For its age, it had incredible power.
Cons
The only con that comes to mind with this car is the interior. As with most older cars, it had the plastic that cracks and cheap fabric seats that are susceptible to wear and tear.
2008 Ford Ranger - Perfect work truck.
I have had this truck for about 4 years, I bought it from the company I used to work for. I work for myself now and my Ranger is my personal and work vehicle. It has a good balance for a personal truck that can double as a clean but useful work truck.
Story
I once ran over a bike rack at a school we were working at and got high centered. I was trying to leave and some other workers had stacked them next to my truck, which I hadn't realized. The guys on the roof thought it was pretty damn funny.
Pros
Easy to work on! The best thing about a Chevy is that parts are cheap and available. Standard American build, if you've worked on any Chevy, you've worked on every Chevy. Also the truck is very versatile. You can haul cargo and park in a normal sized space!
Cons
It is a bit unreliable. It has left me stranded more than once and has cost me over a grand more than once as a result.
