2000 Ford Ranger - I love my Ranger.
I like my Ranger for the fact that it is a pick up truck. While I have driven many pick up trucks, I have never owned one before. I have a lot more things I can do with the open bed in the back.
Story
I have been able to pick up firewood that has been stacked up for free giveaway at a local church. We have a backyard fire pit we use often, and having the truck to gather wood has been a huge plus.
Pros
The XLT has the extended cab area. While it has two jump seats that I will most likely not use, there is more room for stuff you don't want exposed in the open bed. It also has a molded bed liner that has a few nice cargo options.
Cons
It is a bit of a bouncy ride after having come from a small car with a much smoother ride. I have had issues with water on the passenger side floor and hopefully have that corrected now.
1992 Ford Ranger - Reliable truck.
I like how light that the truck is. it is very easy to fix and repair any body damage that occurs. The headliner was also very easy to reupholster. The truck sometimes slips out of gear. I imagine that this is just due to age. It's a really reliable truck so far.
Story
Last weekend me and my fiancé had a little fun driving the truck around in a clay pit.
Pros
I really like that there is no computer. I don't like how computers are in cars these days and can cause a multitude of problems. It has pretty decent gas mileage too for a truck. I also really like how it sounds with straight pipes. My other favorite feature is how easy it is to work on, everything is easily accessible.
Cons
With age there's going to be problems but it has problems shifting sometimes. It also does not like to go into reverse, it takes about 5 seconds before it will finally catch. The gas gauge seems to be off as well because as soon as the needle hits any of the red lines, the truck spits and sputters.
