I bought a Ford Ranger because I needed something that could haul around certain things as my crossover was just being a pain to load in and out. So I bought a Ford Ranger because it's a smaller end truck that does better on gas and meets my specific needs. It's a smooth running truck, and it's very easy to get in and out of unlike other trucks. It's got a great truck bed where you can haul pretty much everything you need. The only thing I don't like about it is that for the motor size, it doesn't get the greatest of gas mileage. Don't get me wrong; it gets better than the average full-size truck, but you won't be getting great gas mileage for a smaller truck. I have the V6 which doesn't get as good as the V4 so that may be the only con I have to say about the truck. So much room, nice... (more)
Story
The V6 get's off the line pretty fast. I think other cars are kind of shocked to see it rev up and get up to speed pretty quickly.
Pros
Easy to drive; easy to get in and out of. Clean look and everything is easy accessible.
Cons
Doesn't do great on gas mileage better than most full-size trucks but still lacking for the size of the vehicle.

1999 Ford Ranger - The Ford Ranger is a great compact truck for everyday use.

The Ford Ranger is a great little truck for everyday use. The design is slim, it's durable and easy to get around with. It's not an attention seeking truck that's all flash and no substance. This thing is tough and rugged and a mighty mouse of pick ups.
Story
What I really loved doing with this truck was going to bonfires. We could chop and haul the wood in the back and then put down the tail gates and enjoy the fire as the night set in.
Pros
What I love most about this truck is the great gas mileage. At the same time, it's still a pickup and I'm still able to haul things. I love having the great views around me as well you can't get from an SUV or Sedan with several blind spots. I always feel like I can tell what's happening on the road around me at all times.
Cons
The cons are that this is, for one, not an extended cab truck. Meaning you won't be driving a family around or even a group of friends. There's room for one other person, possibly two if you can squeeze in. And it only has 4 cylinders and 2 wheel drive. Other options do come with 4 wheel drive which is the only thing I'd really change about this truck if I had to do it over again. Especially living in the Midwest with snow and ice, sometimes you need that extra power and traction to get going and I've been snowed in a few times while others can get out and about.
