I have owned this truck for 7 years and have put on 130,000 miles. It was strong running until the engine started to give out at around 225,000 miles. It can still drive and putting a new engine it won't cost too much.
Story
My favorite memory is showing up a "rugged" truck in snow. He got stuck, I did not.
Pros
The interior stayed really nice. It gets awesome gas mileage. It's relatively inexpensive to fix. It can comfortable fit 6 kegs in a step side box.
Cons
The vacuum lines which control the climate controls are a pain in the ass to work on. They are more difficult to work on than just regular electric lines would be. The extended cab could be slightly longer. The heating ducts in the dash direct hot air around the radio which causes the radio to overheat and shut off. It is not convenient to use a special tool to drop the spare tire.

I drive this truck cross-country all the time. I have lived in it. It has served all of my backcountry travel and camping needs. I keep a tall topper shell on it and it holds all of my outdoor gear all of the time. I once lived up an unplowed road and constantly relied upon 4lo in low gear with chains, but it got around great. I have so many good years and miles and memories with this truck that I have to say it has been exactly what I've needed. I'm letting it get old but I'm not ready to give it up and I hope it can give me another good 50,000 miles. Here's to you, little truck buddy!
Story
I lived in this truck for two summers while working as a backcountry and raft guide. Can't build better memories than that!
Pros
It holds up well. As long as you keep the oil changed and do the minimal regular maintenance, no issues. Holds up well for long road trips, lots of camping, that sort of thing.
Cons
Poor gas mileage. I'm afraid it's rusting a little bit underneath. The passenger airbag got recalled because apparently it can kill you if it goes off, so that's a negative. But the dealership replaced it, of course. That's all.
