2016 Ford Fusion - Love/hate
I had the 2013 model, and we choose to stay with the same brand and model. We hoped a lot of the prior issues had been fixed.
Story
Lugging my music equipment to gigs at different places around town. Driving my wife to dinner at the place we went to as a new couple.
Pros
The car is sleek. The car is nice to drive. The car is good to look at. The car is quiet, little road noise. Easy to wash. Easy to clean.
Cons
Several recalls. No parts for the recalls yet. Not the greatest gas mileage. Not the best A/C unit. Not the best fit and finish to body and interior parts. Cup holder layout is horrible.
2014 Ford Fusion - Unreliable and unsafe
I like the way it looks, but it drives horribly. The transmission has been awful since day one. It changes gears extra hard and throws the car forward randomly. It always has recalls. Has left me stranded and has been in the shop three times in the last five years.
Story
Family trip to our local lake. We all piled in, opened the sunroof and grabbed lunch for a picnic and spent the day as a family at the lake having fun.
Pros
The look, the way the driver seat sits, a large trunk, nice sunroof, seats are comfortable and good gas mileage. The back seats lay down in the back, making me have lots of room to haul lumber or larger items most cars cannot accommodate. The driver seat functionality is better than most. It can adjust up, down, front and back. The steering wheel is telescopic, which is nice for tall people. The digital keypad is a nice feature when I can't get to my keys or if you lose your keys or lock them in the car, I can just punch in the code.
Cons
All the recalls. The horrible transmission. It does not drive well. Air conditioner went out after two years. The seat belt in the middle of the back seat that is never used locks the seat in a down position, which is a common problem with the Ford Fusion. The radio screen went black. The windshield wipers have never worked good. It's hard to see when it rains.

2015 Ford Fusion - Performance Ford Lincoln Charlotte
It wasn't so great. The salesman and finance agent gave us the run-around with what documentation was needed on our part and what needed to be signed. My husband had to make a return trip because they forgot some paper work that was needed. It was an unnecessarily long process and inefficient. We bought the car despite the experience.
